Matthew Spring, Ph.D.

Director of Academic Success and Seven Arts of Language

Dr. Spring received his Ph.D. in Literature from the University of Dallas in 2015, at which point he began working as the  Director of the Seven Arts of Language Program. He's been a student, mentor, writing tutor, writing instructor, and English Professor at UD since 2009; served as a Peace Corps Volunteer at Xihua University in Sichuan, China; taught ESL and composition courses at the middle school, high school, and college level; and worked as the Residence Director for Upward Bound and the Assistant Director of Tutoring for Puerto Rican Youth Development.

Ana Henriquez, M.S.

Academic Adviser and Assistant Director of the Constantin Scholars Program

Ana Henriquez received her M.S. in Basic Biomedical Sciences from the Cell and Molecular Biology Program at UT Southwestern in 2022. She is an alumna of UD, graduating in 2020 with her B.S. in Biology and a concentration in Latin. She is an adjunct professor in the Biology Department in addition to her work in the Academic Success Office, where she coaches and mentors students, helps direct the Constantin Scholars Program, and supervises many of the tutors in Constantin College.

Judith Barrera, M.Ed.

Academic Success Specialist and Assistant Director of the College Citizens Program

Judith Barrera received her M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2023, and earned her BA in psychology from the University of Dallas in 2021. She is the assistant director of the College Citizens program, manages the Small Groups peer-mentoring initiative, and teaches a Study Skills course. Ms. Barrera uses her background in educational psychology and student affairs to help students excel academically and flourish in their personal life.
